2007 Aspects Lake County

2007 Aspects Lake County

This complex blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Petite Sirah embodies all the elements of our terroir. Bright berry and spice aromas with sage and tobacco notes and the firm, complete tannins invite pairings with veal chops, wild mushrooms and exotic cheeses. Delightful in youth, "Aspects" will gain substantial complexity with a decade in your cellar.

2008 Petite Sirah Lake County

2008 Petite Sirah Lake County

This incredibly dense but well-mannered 100% Petite Sirah is packed with ripe blackberry and plum aromas nuanced with sage and exotic lavender perfume reflective of our unique terroir.  This immensely satisfying wine sometimes tempts us to replant the whole vineyard in this variety which is so well suited to it.  Thanks to the generous yet refined tannins, you can enjoy its massive flavors in its vibrant youth, or cellar it for added complexity.

2007 Cabernet Franc Lake County

2007 Cabernet Franc Lake County

Cabernet Franc is the father of Cabernet Sauvignon, leaner and with more depth. Our rocky soils restrain vine growth, resulting in greater exposure of fruit to the sun, which brings out spicy pomegranate aromas and bright berry flavors framed by profound firm tannins. We like to serve this wine with roast pork and cherries, or grilled duck breast.

2 Jakes 2007 Red Wine

2 Jakes 2007 Red Wine

Every grower is a bit of a gambler. This is a full-bodied, rustic cowboy wine that’s 61% Cabernet Sauvignon, 31% Merlot and 8% Petite Sirah. My father, Jake Stephens II, and I hit the jackpot when we established Diamond Ridge Vineyards in the volcanic hillsides near the town of Clearlake, CA. Deliciously drinkable by itself, our family enjoys this rich blend with barbeque, Italian dishes, and steaks. It’s got a screwcap, so you don’t need a corkscrew!

2 Jakes Dry Rosť

2 Jakes Dry Rosť

2 Jakes Dry Rosť is a fitting companion to our red blend. We bleed off this pink juice from our Merlot after a brief time on the skins. By increasing the ratio of skins to juice, we get more concentration of color and flavor for our red wine.

Quite rich in grenadine aromas, it possesses a natural fruit richness on the palate without any residual sugar. We blended in a small amount of Viognier to round out the tannins and give a kiss of peach in the nose. Take it to a friend’s house if you don’t know what’s cooking.  Goes with absolutely everything, and everybody loves it.
